Geeta S. Iyengar
Smt. Geeta S. Iyengar (1944-2018) was the eldest daughter of Yogacharya B. K. S. Iyengar and a yoga authority. She achieved mastery of the art of yoga in an early age, through observation of her father´s practice. She owns a degree in philosophy as well. She taught yoga at Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute (RIMYI), where she was a co-director.
Geeta was a distinguished yoga teacher. She started teaching in 1962 and transmitted her father´s teaching to thousands of students all over the world. She was always gifted with an acute sense for observation and compassion for her students. Her extraordinary teachings had helped many women through difficult pregnancies and menopausal depressions. She taught regularly at RIMYI and had been invited as a visitor professor at many conventions in USA, Canada, Australia and Europe.
