Three decades of commitment to the community, the legacy and the practice of IYENGAR® Yoga. 2026 is a particularly significant year for the Spanish Association of IYENGAR® Yoga (AEYI).
We are celebrating 30 years of our journey, three decades dedicated to nurturing, promoting and preserving the IYENGAR® method, always with deep respect for the tradition we have inherited.
The AEYI was founded in 1996, following the guidance of B.K.S. Iyengar to establish a solid framework that would guarantee the quality of teaching and the growth of our community.
To mark this anniversary, the 25th IYENGAR® Yoga Convention will take place, an event which, year after year, has brought together practitioners and teachers to share study, inspiration and community. Reaching the twenty-fifth edition is a reflection of the collective effort and the bond that unites those who have kept this path alive over the years.
The presence of Abhijata Iyengar will make this year’s event an even more special celebration: an occasion to honour what has been built, whilst embracing the coming years of learning with gratitude and enthusiasm.
Guest Teacher
This year we are honoured to welcome Abhijata Iyengar, granddaughter of Guruji B.K.S. Iyengar and one of the principal custodians of his teachings. She learnt directly from Guruji, with whom she shared long hours of practice, observation and study.
Abhijata represents the living transmission of the method.
Her teaching combines technical rigour, pedagogical sensitivity and a deep respect for the essence of yoga as transmitted by her grandfather.
Her presence at this convention offers us the opportunity to learn first-hand from a direct lineage of knowledge, dedication and commitment to the practice that continues to inspire practitioners around the world.
